The Freak Circus Day 3 — Release Status and What We Know

Day 3 has not been released, and this page tracks only what the developer has actually said. Everything below is split into official statements, confirmed facts, a dated timeline, and clearly labelled speculation. Last reviewed on 1 October 2026.

This page exists for one reason: Day 3 is the single most asked-about topic in the fandom, and it is also the topic with the most false information attached to it. Several third-party sites already publish supposed endings and step-by-step guides for a chapter that does not exist. Everything below is divided into what the developer has said, what is confirmed, a dated timeline, and what is only community guesswork.

Official word

The developer, Neko Bueno (publishing as Garula), posts progress on Day 3 in weekly updates on the game’s official Tumblr and in updates to the itch.io devlog.

The most recent progress report, published on 21 August 2026, said that all café dialogue had been adjusted, that the pacing of several scenes had been polished, and that the choice logic which interfered with other branches had been rebuilt. The developer added that the Doctor’s sprites are the next asset task, and that the Doctor and Jester scenes still require extra artwork. In a separate AMA posted the same day, the developer said they were looking forward to getting the beta test out and to checking that everything works properly.

On the question of timing, the developer has stated directly that there is “no set time for day3,” and that any updates will appear on the developer’s own channels first. In the August 2026 AMA, the developer said they hope to release the update sometime this year, but attached no promise to that hope. A hope is not a schedule, and no public build has appeared on itch.io.

What is confirmed

• Day 3 is the next major update and is in active development. The official itch.io listing still serves the Prototype build (v0.2), containing Day 1 and Day 2.
• The Day 3 script is complete. The developer has reported the new script at 76 pages, compared with 47 pages for the previous chapter. This is described as indicative and may change after a full revision.
• The developer has said the update is expected to ship one new bad ending and two new hidden scenes. The developer has also noted this may change after revision.
• Four endings are planned for the game overall: Pierrot’s ending, Harlequin’s ending, the protagonist’s ending, and an “All together” ending. The developer has added that the script is still a work in progress, so not all of these are final.
• The café sequence is the current focus of the build, with branch logic being repaired so that one route does not break another.

Community speculation

Speculation, not official. Nothing in this section has been confirmed by the developer, and none of it should be treated as a release date or a spoiler.

• Some players believe Day 3 may be the final day of the story; others expect a Day 4 to resolve every route. There is no official confirmation of either view.
• Theories about the Jester’s backstory, Columbina’s fate, and how the circus itself was created are fan interpretation drawn from Day 1 and Day 2 scenes.
• Titles circulating online for the two planned bad endings in the next chapter are placeholders, not official names.
• Any page promising a downloadable file for the next chapter, or a complete step-by-step guide to it, is not official. The only legitimate place to play the game is the developer’s itch.io listing.

What you can do while you wait is real, at least: both routes in the current build can be replayed for different lore, the mirror maze and hidden scenes remain the closest thing to Columbina’s story in the released content, and every save you keep before a major choice will help you reach Day 3’s branches faster once it arrives.
